How to get an anonymous phone number, and when you do not need one
An anonymous phone number is harder to get than anonymous data, because numbers are regulated more tightly and many services tie them to identity. This guide sets out the realistic options honestly. Virtual number apps give you a second number quickly, but most require an email, a card or an existing phone number to sign up, which links the new number back to you. A small number of crypto paid services sell numbers without identity checks, Silent.link being the best known. That is the strongest choice if you truly need to receive calls or SMS on a number nobody can link to you.
Do you actually need a number?
